Rolling Mill Tutorial

Before continuing, make sure you have read Chapter 5.

System Description

Another control problem (besides the continuous caster) arising in the steel industry is the control of the exit steel thickness in a rolling mill. The diagram below shows the layout of a rolling mill, with thick steel going in one side, and thin steel coming out the other.
